Configuration is managed via the dashboard. Storage and retention are based on your plan tier.
API Keys
All UsersAll SDK requests require three headers to authenticate and route data correctly. Find these in your project dashboard.
Required Headers
X-Project-Key
Identifies which project this data belongs to.
X-Source-Key
Identifies the data source (e.g., web app, mobile app, backend service).
X-Environment-Key
Identifies the environment (production, staging, development).
Getting Your Keys
Keys are automatically generated when you create projects, environments, and sources in the dashboard. Copy them from each respective page.
Data Retention
CanDecide uses smart rollup to keep your historical data forever while managing storage efficiently.
How Smart Rollup Works
Instead of deleting old data, we automatically aggregate it. Raw data (full detail) is kept for your plan's window, then rolled up into hourly, daily, and monthly summaries.

Privacy Settings
All UsersCanDecide includes built-in privacy features for GDPR and CCPA compliance. Configure these in Project Settings.
Available Settings
- •IP Anonymization: Automatically mask IP addresses before storage
- •Do Not Track: Respect browser DNT headers
- •Data Export: Export all user data for GDPR requests
- •Data Deletion: Permanently delete user data on request
